The Palau de la Música and the Valencia Orchestra will dedicate a concert to Teresa Berganza

VALENCIA, 13 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Palau de la Música de València will dedicate the Spring subscription concert to the mezzo-soprano Teresa Berganza, on June 23, in which the Valencia Orchestra, conducted by Pablo Heras-Casado, will perform a program with a lyrical part starring Nancy Fabiola Herrera, with works by Matilde Salvador and others, as well as Symphony No. 6 by Piotr Ilich Tchaikovsky.

The president of the Palau, Glòria Tello, its director, Vicent Ros, and the principal conductor of the Orquesta de València, Alexander Liebreich, and the professors and professors of the Orchestra have lamented the death of Berganza and “the loss of one of the great voices of the international lyric, who sang eight times to the Valencian auditorium, three of them with the Orquesta de València”, as expressed by the Palau in a statement.

Teresa Berganza made her debut at the Palau de la Música on February 3, 1990, in a recital in which she was accompanied by the pianist Juan Antonio Álvarez Parejo. Two years later she returned to the Sala Iturbi to sing with the Valencia Symphony Orchestra, and also in 1992, she participated in the cast of the scenic cantata ‘La Atlántida’ by Manuel de Falla, with the National Youth Orchestra of Spain.

He returned to the Palau with the same pianist that same year and also in 1997. He also sang with the Orquesta de València in 1994 and 1999, the year in which he was awarded the Palau Medal. Finally, December 20, 2002 was his last performance, also with the Orquesta de València, to sing the opera ‘La Atlántida’ by Falla in concert version.
