The battery is under warranty
The owner of the Tesla Model S bought his electric car six years ago. This means that the car battery is still under warranty. But it started to fail and put the car out of service. Tesla offered the car owner that it would not charge the original half a million crowns for the replacement of the battery, which was during the warranty period, but “only” 250 thousand crowns. The carmaker defended herself with two photos of the battery, in which she found a “significant amount of water” and that she had not yet recorded a similar case. How water could have entered the sealed battery at all, but remains a mystery.
The account also surprised other drivers
When Tesla Model S terminated its service to Tyler Hoover, the battery was four months out of warranty. The error message “maximum battery level reduced” and auto appeared on the display could not be charged for more than 80 kilometers. Tyler drove the car to a Tesla service center, where he was advised to replace the battery for $ 22,500, which is about 488 thousand crowns. Finnish youtuber Tuomas Katainen was the proud owner of the eight-year-old Tesla Model S.
“The first 1,500 kilometers were pleasant. Then error messages started to appear and I had to have the car towed to a workshop, ” said Katainen.
