The two young squatters, who illegally occupied premises located in the 9th arrondissement of Lyon, had attacked the owner in order to recover the accommodation, but also to obtain compensation. On Tuesday, the court delivered its judgment.
The two complainants will not be able to return to the premises, as they claimed. On the other hand, the owner will have to pay them 2,000 euros in damages and pay the 1,000 euros in legal aid, reports Progress.
The court found that the company, to which the premises belong, evicted them too early. She gave reason in this to the two young people, a locksmith and a school teacher in their twenties.
The company dismissed these requests
As a reminder, the deadline for leaving the premises was set for March 31. Considering that all the occupants (about twenty people at the start) had already left, the owner had the locks changed on January 23. The two complainants found the door closed on their way home from work and argued that they had not had time to collect their belongings.
In addition, the company, which claimed 512,000 euros in order to restore the premises and which requested the conviction of the two young people for abusive procedure, was dismissed.
