the owner accuses relatives of U Levante of attempted racketeering, the association announces filing a complaint

The video is still confidential, but given its content, it should not take long to gain visibility. In a face-to-face interview lasting around 8 minutes posted on November 2, Julien Peretti, owner of the Saparella estate (Coti-Chiavari), accuses people close to the U Levante association of having wanted to racketeer him.

“The close guard, people very close to Michelle Salotti (member of the association’s management, editor’s note) asked me for 300,000 euros by phone to have the complaint removed”says Julien Peretti, who adds that he refused to pay.

The latter is engaged in a long legal procedure launched by the environmental protection association, which contests the legality of the building permits for three villas built on the estate. These authorizations were issued by the former prefect Stéphane Bouillon in 2011. In September 2023, the Bastia Court of Appeal ordered their destruction under penalty of a fine of 500 euros per day per construction. The case must be judged in cassation in the coming months.

“I don’t care about their complaint”

According to Julien Peretti, it was therefore in exchange for stopping the procedure that people close to the association tried to extort him. “300 000 euros”. When contacted, the owner of the domain did not wish to comment further, simply stating: “The truth will emerge. I will go to the end”. “Me, I work, I am Corsican”he also claimed.

For her part, Michelle Salotti also did not wish to speak. But the association has already reacted on its website. “U Levante and Le Garde (a partner association, editor’s note)as well as Michelle Salotti, will file a complaint for defamation, insult and incitement to violence against the author of these comments and those who broadcast them, unless Julien Peretti denies them within the week (before this Tuesday, November 12, editor’s note) and make public his denial”.

An ultimatum which is likely to have no effect on its recipient. “I don’t care about their complaint”he told Corse-Matin. According to our information, this complaint is indeed being filed.

“The real underworld of the island”

U Levante also challenges Julien Peretti to present the evidence he claims to have. “I’m ready to have a confrontation and discuss it face to face. I have proof, I have everything”he certifies in this video, without revealing anything of their nature. Nor on the identity of the individuals who contacted him, or the date on which he received this call. If he criticizes “immobility” of justice and the State, Julien Peretti refuses to say whether he himself was brought to justice following the extortion attempt he denounces. Requested by our title, the Ajaccio public prosecutor’s office indicates, however, that it is not aware of any complaint.

Furthermore, the owner of the domain engages in a violent attack against the association which he accuses of being “the real underworld of the island”. “Let Corsica wake up, let people take their balls in their hands (sic) and they bury these people”. Comments relayed by the YouTube channel “En vert et contre tout” (194 subscribers), which describes itself as a “citizen collective committed against the instrumentalization of ecology for political purposes”but whose object seems rather the systematic defense of those who find themselves in conflict with environmental associations. The channel thus published an interview with Paul Canarelli, owner of the Murtoli estate.
