The outstanding balance of bank credit increased by 1.66% in April, according to Pulse, the quarterly business delinquency bulletin prepared by Axesor an Experian company, which highlights that this increase has broken the contractionary trend that had been occurring since 2012.
The report includes that the outstanding balance of bank credit closed last year at 1,158.73 million euros. This bulletin compiles the main banking indicators and the evolution of the business fabric.

The bulletin highlights that the default ratios in the credits granted and outstanding; the latter were at levels of 0.5784%, “the lowest since 2009”.
However, analysts warn of the effects that the termination of the extraordinary measures approved by the Government of Spain to alleviate the impact of the health crisis on the economy and companies could result on credit, at which time “it will be known, among other variables, what is the real situation of the percentage of delinquency on the loans granted “.
With regard to mortgage credit, the bulletin coincides with the tightening in the conditions of access to it during the first quarter of this year 2021 that the Bank of Spain points out. “Even so, the percentage of rejected applications would not be significant,” the report points out.
In relation to business activity, in the first five months of this year, 2,509 bankruptcies were declared, 76.44% more year-on-year. Commerce, hospitality and construction are the activities with the highest number of procedures.
On the entrepreneurship side, 46,158 companies were created, 55.22% more than in the same period of 2020. In this case, the activities preferred by entrepreneurs are commerce, construction and professional, scientific and technical activities.
