Havana Cuba. – The outstanding actress and broadcaster Martha Velasco, National Radio Award and Artist of Merit from the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television, died this Friday in Havana, at the age of 95.

From the first stages of his life, he enjoyed rehearsals in the capital’s radio stations and later he studied stage acting and declamation at the School of Fine Arts of the Galician Center of Havana, knowledge that facilitated him to interpret, later, several characters with a Spanish accent.

He worked in relevant stations such as the RHC Cadena Azul; However, his fundamental work center was Radio Progreso, a station where he starred, for decades, in novels, theaters, stories and other spaces.

Martha Velasco also held the Distinction for National Culture and the Alejo Carpentier medal, as well as the Cuban Radio Microphone. By family decision, his body will be cremated.
