As of January 22, two units were still hatching at the Rivière-Rouge Service Center, indicates the CISSS des Laurentides. At the height of the outbreak, there were three affected units within the hospital as well as two living environments located within the walls of the establishment.

In particular, the CHSLD L’Équip’emploi has been hit hard by the virus. As of Thursday, January 21, there were four deaths linked to COVID-19 as well as 11 cases still active, or 13% of residents. This is what the document reveals “Status report of active cases and deaths by CHSLD”, published by Quebec. The CHSLD was therefore still under surveillance (orange level).

At the height of the outbreak, more than 60 people, patients and employees, were tested positive at the Service Center.

Active cases

According to the document “NUMBER OF COVID-19 CASES BY MUNICIPALITY AS OF JANUARY 21, 2021”, there were 23 active cases of the virus in Rivière-Rouge and 26 on the Mont-Laurier side. This report is updated once a week, on Thursday.

Seven other municipalities, out of the 18 that are part of the Antoine-Labelle MRC, then had at least one active case of COVID-19 on its territory, indicates the CISSSLAU. Note that for confidentiality reasons, exact numbers are not released when there are 1 to 4 local cases. In La Rouge, this is the case for La Macaza and Nominingue.

Regional review

As of Friday, January 22, there were 76 active cases of COVI-19 in the Antoine-Labelle MRC, for a total of 467 cases listed in the region since the start of the pandemic. The Laurentian Integrated Health and Social Services Center (CISSSLAU) has also reported eight coronavirus-related deaths since March in the MRC.

On the side of the MRC des Laurentides, bringing together about twenty municipalities from La Minerve to Val-Morin, via Ste-Agathe and Mont-Tremblant, we are talking about 34 active cases as of January 22, says the CISSSLAU. Since the start of the pandemic, 765 people have contracted the virus in the territory and 20 have died from it.

In total, the Laurentians region had more than 13,700 cumulative cases of COVID-19 since March, recorded 781 active cases and 409 deaths linked to COVID-19, indicates the Laurentian Integrated Health and Social Services Center (CISSSLAU) .
