The Film Academy’s president claims that the Academy’s leaders were “upset and furious” over actor Will Smith’s behavior during the Oscars.

That Will Smith slapped Chris Rock during Hollywood’s biggest event will not go unnoticed. It promises the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, writes NBC News.
The TV channel has received a letter in which the film academy’s president David Rubin and director dawn hudson state that they are upset and furious and that this year’s Oscar show was “overshadowed by unacceptable and harmful behavior on stage by one of the nominees”.
According to the two, it will take a couple of weeks before it becomes clear what consequences the behavior will have.

The Oscar Academy confirmed on Monday that the organization had started investigations, but did not say which or how.
Smith won the award for best male actor for the tennis drama “King Richard”, about the upbringing of Venus and Serena Williams and the importance his father Richard Williams has had for their success on the tennis court.
He publicly apologized for his behavior in an Instagram statement on Monday.
– Violence in all its forms is toxic and destructive. My behavior during the Oscars yesterday was unacceptable and unforgivable.
– A time for healing
The background for the Oscar drama was that Chris Rock (57) joked about the appearance of Jada Pinkett Smith, who has the hair disease alopecia.
On Tuesday afternoon, she published a short post on Instagram:
– This is a time for healing, and I’m here for it.
It does not appear from the post whether the statement is about the weekend’s drama that has made headlines around the world.
Splitter Hollywood
Hollywood has now split into two camps: those who praise Will Smith for defending his wife and those who believe his behavior sets a precedent that could harm other stand-up comedians.
Actor Jim Carrey told CBS on Tuesday night that he was disgusted by the way the audience reacted to the episode.
After Smith’s speech of thanks when he won the award for best male lead, he received standing ovations.
