NEW YORK – Mario Palazetti who created the ABS brake system brake system that helps reduce fatal accidents at the Fiat Research Center is used on vehicles on the market. “We refer to this device as Biostopper. This device is used to produce the aerodynamic field, when someone talks and releases air when breathing, it will return to the individual,” he explained. (Read: PSBB Proportional in Bodebek Officially Extended)

Palazzetti began developing the Biostopper device two months ago, hoping to help overcome the problem of social detention in schools, offices, bars and restaurants. The COVID-19 pandemic has claimed the lives of around 548,000 people worldwide.

He is currently working with a team at the Politecnico di Torino (University of Turin) to improve and test the product.

“I cannot tell you in detail about this product because it is still in the patent stage. The concept is simple, developed not to kill viruses but to reduce social distance to be safe,” said Professor Marco Simonetti of the University of Turin’s Department of Energy.

Basically, he added, Biostopper was developed to allow two people to communicate at close range but can be used in small groups.

“We focus on conversation. If we focus on sneezing, we need a more invasive system,” he said.

The team hopes to complete the prototype by the end of July and enter the market in the summer.
