Advance ticket sales for some events started before Christmas, the organizers are gradually publishing their first names and the festival calendar is filling up quickly. The show in Boskovice in the Blansko region will celebrate 30 years of existence this year, and the Brno Pop Messe festival could take place in full for the first time.

In 2020, most summer shows did not take place at all due to the pandemic, last year they were bound by capacity constraints and problems with the travel of invited performers across borders, which also affected the Pop Messe festival. The first year planned for 2020 took place last year, in a limited form.

This year, the organizers want to bring a number of foreign stars to Brno on July 29 and 30, such as the British rapper Skepta, the American rock band Algiers, the Icelandic singer Sóley or the electronic music performers Acid Arab and Avalon Emerson. The event will take place in the area around the Bobycentrum and the Za Lužánkami football stadium.

“In 2022, we plan to hold the festival to the extent we originally anticipated, ie five stages, 40 artists, a program until the morning hours, a larger gastronomic offer, an accompanying program, more genre representations,” said playwright Tomáš Kelar. “We are incredibly happy that we managed to make the first year at all, albeit in a truncated form and with limited possibilities, but still on a fairly large scale,” added Kelar.

The Boskovice Festival for the Jewish Quarter is traditionally held at the beginning of the holidays, this year it will be July 7-10. So far, the organizers have announced the American band Girls Against Boys from the program of the 30th year.

Last year, the festival of alternative music in Mikulov in the Břeclav region was organized for the first time by a new organizing team called MikuLove. They want to continue this year, they set the date for August 26 and 27. So far, they have announced Czech performers, such as Michal Ambrož with Music Prague, Krásné nové stroje, Znouzectnost or Echt!

The first tickets for the TrutnOFF BrnoON festival are already on sale in advance, continuing the tradition of shows in Trutnov in East Bohemia and now taking place in Brno-Pisárky. This year’s event will take place from August 18 to 21, and foreign bands will also be present. So far, Tasovská Beseda has announced the dates of August 5 and 6. Pre-sale has already started, the program is not yet publicly known.
