The organization Techo, which works to improve living conditions in popular neighborhoods, will change this year the traditional purpose of its annual collection, which will no longer be the search for contributions and financial support for its tasks, but will be an invitation to everything whoever wants to “donate time” for volunteer activities.
–
The collection is national in nature and will be held on Thursday the 7th, Friday the 8th and Saturday the 9th. In particular, they are invited to add part of their time to solidarity work for young people, whose commitment is invaluable to face difficult situations such as the current one.

Techo has been developing activities in the area in settlements and popular neighborhoods of Cipolletti and Neuquén. Their work has allowed several families to access a modest home but of transcendent human and social value thanks to the non-profit work of its members.

Maximiliano Muñoz, general director of the organization for Río Negro and Neuquén, stated that this year, due to the general context of the country, the need to request collaboration “from another side” was evaluated, in particular, considering that they have to go back to articulate social networks of containment and response to the demands of the most vulnerable sectors.
In this regard, what is required now is to have hours of voluntary participation, both virtual and face-to-face, in the initiatives that are planned to be carried out and which, due to the difficult economic and pandemic moment, are increasingly urgent.
“Citizen participation of youth is essential to transform the reality of popular neighborhoods,” said the leader, who highlighted the slogan adopted for this year’s campaign: “Donate your time,” which will seek to “encourage the people to carry out some activity with the organization so far this year “.
The invitation aims to have at least “one hour” of personal time for a volunteer activity, in neighborhoods where there are families without access to drinking water or who have problems accessing health, among other difficulties. “We propose that with a little of our time, we change this reality,” he emphasized.
