After a one-year break, the thirteenth international organ music festival “Vox angelica!” Will start today at Dubulti Evangelical Lutheran Church.
A total of nine concerts will feature well-known Latvian organists together with soloists, as well as a guest from Germany Douglas Bruce.
Today, the festival will be opened by a concert “In the Light of Hope”, which will be attended by the youngest generation of organists, graduates of Jurmala Music High School.

Festival producer Edīte Alpe described the start of the festival as a symbolic beginning for the Latvian Radio3 program “Klasika”.
She pointed out that “In the Light of Hope” seems like a name that characterizes that after a year of silence, there is finally hope again – you will be able to make music again and the whole cultural life will be able to resume in its usual capacity.
“It is, of course, significant. They want young people to enter the music. In any case, they have now brilliantly completed their studies at the Jurmala Music School, and Liene Neija-Kalniņa, who is the violin of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra and also the Jurmala Music high school teacher, “said Alpe.
The concerts of the festival will take place every Sunday at 6 pm, from Sunday, July 18, to September 12. Admission is free, but digital Covid-19 certificates must be presented.
