The advance in vaccination against covid-19, the stabilization of severe cases of coronavirus and the experience of massive tests held in person during the pandemic, such as the last two editions of selectivity, have reactivated the most numerous selective processes of the administrations public. All the oppositions were paralyzed after the explosion of the pandemic, the administrative deadlines were suspended during the initial months of the covid and they were retaken again in the fall of 2020, but the processes that supposed a low concentration of people to avoid risks did.
However, now it seems that there is a reactivation of all those calls that are underway. It occurs mainly in the call for labor personnel of the Junta de Extremadura pending since 2019, but also in other regional institutions such as the University of Extremadura, city councils and in general processes convened throughout the State.
The opposition exams with few applicants have been held in recent months, but it has been the call for Education, with almost 7,000 registered applicants (although about 5,600 later attended the tests), which has opened the ban on mass processes pending. “The pandemic has slowed down everything that was underway, there are some processes that have ended in this time, but calls that mobilize a lot of personnel have been delayed especially,” says Juanjo Samino, head of general administration of CSIF , that asks for speed to close the open processes and remove the new public job offers that are pending to be convened (there are opes for 2018 still waiting) to avoid their expiration.
Samino understands the impact of the pandemic on these processes, but points out that security measures have shown that oppositions can continue to be held. For this, a protocol has been designed that, in addition to the usual hygiene measures and use of protection, includes staggered entrances to the enclosures and the obligation to fill out a responsible declaration in which the applicant guarantees that they are free of covid-19. A second date is also being given to those who justify that they are directly affected by the pandemic and cannot attend the tests on the days set.
In the regional administration, apart from the examinations of Education (about to conclude) and Health (there are no pending exams, but a next call is expected for this summer), there are still processes to be concluded in the General Administration, of labor personnel specifically, which were convened in April 2019 and have not yet held their exams. “They should have been done in 2020, but everything has been delayed.” The tests of some of these specialties have already been carried out, but the most numerous remain, among which are the waiter-cleaner competitions, in which 60 places are at stake and more than 6,200 people have registered ( the final lists are missing), but they do not yet have an exam date.
The oppositions of nursing assistant, also called in 2019, which are held this Saturday in Badajoz and Cáceres and in which more than 3,000 applicants will compete for 50 fixed places on the Board. Recently, the Board has also announced a forthcoming call for civil servants with about 426 positions.
The tests of different specialties of the promotion shift and those of several recently called waiting lists are also being carried out, such as the demand and response operator, which will bring together almost 1,200 other applicants this Sunday in Badajoz. Last week the examinations of the financial administration technicians pool were held (with about 600 participants) and the date of the tests of at least three other waiting lists of the regional administration is still pending.
To these are added other examinations convened by the University of Extremadura (It is expected for September that of multiple services assistant whose list of definitive admitted adds more than 1,300 applicants), also by the condition (administrative and administrative auxiliary are expected to take place in November) and the local administrations (The Badajoz City Council has already set the administrative assistant exam for July 24), among others.
