In a joint public note PP, PSOE, BNG and Ciudadanos de Oleiros warn that the demolition contravenes the Xeral Plan that protects this building and it indicates that a demolition of this type must have the authorization of the General Directorate of patrimony.
José Bonome, PP spokesman declared this morning that “there is a lot of exponentism. From the opposition, what we have asked for is all the information about it. Let’s see what reports exist from the technicians, which is the reason for the demolition, because it is in those dates, how the demolition was contracted, the safety regulations that were adopted, well, we are going to full session, we have no other spokespersons, they never communicated anything to us “
The signatory groups indicate in the joint statement that at the time of the demolition, five months had passed since the building was burned in July last year, without the City Council having adopted measures for its protection. There was no municipal response to the request of the Xunta of August 18 demanding a rehabilitation project for the Casa Carnicero.

The Galician College of Architects has taken a stand against demolition. It defends that it is a listed building, the work of the architect Rafael González Villar, which must be maintained by law.
