The fierce reaction of SYRIZA was caused by the response of Kyriakos Pierrakakis to Stefanos Kasselakis for distance education for high school children of Gavdos.
It is recalled that Stefanos Kasselakis met in Gavdos with Efi Georgakas, mother of 14-year-old Nikolas and 13-year-old Kellys, who argued that the prime minister did not keep his promise of remote education to the two students.

The Minister of Education emphasized, among other things, that “Education issues are too serious to be the subject of pre-election populism on social media by the official opposition leader. That’s why they demand responsibility, instead of fireworks.” In fact, he committed himself to a solution … from September, even though the prime minister’s promise has been made for a year.
“Populism is not about listening to society and highlighting promises that are not fulfilled. On the contrary, it is our debt.
It was his duty, as the responsible minister, to have solved the problem, before it was solved by private initiative. We will continue to listen to the problems of society, in every part of Greece, wherever they are, and to present them” emphasized Koumoundourou.

“Mr. Pierrakakis thought it appropriate to inform us through his statement that “Education issues are very serious”.
He even accused SYRIZA and its President, Stefanos Kasselakis, of “populism”, because he highlighted a real problem faced by children in Gavdos. Children whom the state treats as second-class citizens and denies their right to public education.
Let us inform him in our turn, that precisely because the issues of Education are serious, we must highlight any problems that exist. We should also inform him that populism is not about listening to society and highlighting promises that are not fulfilled. On the contrary, it is our debt.
His duty, as the responsible Minister, was to have solved the problem, before it was solved by private initiative, as it was.
We will continue to listen to the problems of society, in every corner of Greece, wherever they are and to present them. Because for us every citizen of this country is special and particularly important”.

“The contract that the prime minister has assigned to him to hold the far-right reins of a faltering government is worthy,” say SYRIZA about Makis Voridis, on the occasion of the minister’s statements early in the morning.
It is recalled that Makis Voridis said about the tragic event in Agios Anargyros, that “there is no country in the world where there is no homicide”, admitting, however, that he does not know of a similar incident of the murder of a woman outside a police station, under such circumstances…
In fact, he went so far as to say that security gaps exist even in highly guarded places, trying to justify everything he can…
