The opposition benefits from the government’s mistakes, it does not oppose

Former Deputy Prime Minister Serdar Denktaş made a statement about the fake diploma scandals that have made a big impact in recent days. Serdar Denktaş stated that the judiciary should bring this issue to a conclusion before the universities suffer further loss of reputation and said, “YÖDAK and the Ministry of National Education should complete this investigation and if there are other universities, they should also be identified. “The judiciary must conclude this issue very quickly, without further delay, so that a sector that is so important for our country will not be further injured,” he said.

“THE OPPOSITION BENEFITS FROM THE MISTAKES OF THE GOVERNMENT AND DOES NOT OPPOSITION”

Denktaş stated that the opposition, instead of expressing the mistakes made and offering solution alternatives, works to continue the mistakes, and said, “When I see the opposition benefiting from the mistakes of the government and when I see that the opposition does not make the necessary opposition, I feel sad for the politics of the country. Trust in politics has been declining, but it has never been this bad. Unfortunately, we see the effects of this in economic, social and cultural terms. I’m waiting for the government to do something good so that I can support it, but they do nothing but talk nonsense. The opposition, on the other hand, has the approach of ‘do not touch the government’s mistakes, this way we will be in power’. This is a very wrong approach. Because citizens want a solution to their problems. Unless these problems are expressed, the understanding that there is no solution for any of them is established. “This will become an important problem for our democracy,” he said.

“I DO NOT EXPECT EARLY ELECTIONS”

Stating that there is no opposition that will lead the country to early elections, Denktaş stated that the opposition is in favor of the government remaining, and that they think the longer it stays, the better it will be for them. Clarifying that stability does not mean a long-term government, Denktaş said, “A stable government is a government that has a vision and a goal and walks towards that goal together.”

Evaluating TDP’s approach to the Cyprus problem, Denktaş stated that it is not the right approach to put the Cyprus problem in the background. Instead, Denktaş said that a truly solvable new approach to the Cyprus problem is needed in order to solve the country’s internal problems and motivate people, and added: “It is necessary to think about whether we can put forward a new approach without going beyond the UNSC decisions, and our work is in this direction. “It is not enough to address domestic problems alone,” he said.

“PEOPLE-FOCUSED POLITICS WILL WIN”

Stating that the well-known right-left politics is now a thing of the past and people-oriented politics will win, Serdar Denktaş said, “An approach that includes all segments but does not underestimate the importance of the Cyprus problem should be put forward. People in positions of authority use their positions for their own benefit. It is not the seat that gives reputation, the person we elect gives credit to that seat. While voting, our citizens should think about who can do what about our future. “The era of ‘this person would solve my problem’ is over,” he said. Underlining that the real problem of the country is to get rid of the current CTP and UBP politics, which has turned into gangrene for years, Denktaş said, “In my opinion, these two parties are twin brothers. “They fuel polarization in foreign policy and do not produce policies in domestic politics,” he said.

“SYSTEM CHANGE SHOULD BE DISCUSSED IMMEDIATELY”

Saying that the current system does not take the country forward, Denktaş stated that the parliamentary system being implemented has turned into the prime ministerial system and is now dysfunctional, and added: “Our north and south have switched to the presidential system. Just as we see the shortcomings, we also see the practical aspects. We need to discuss the transition to the presidential system by amending the Constitution to make it more functional. We should discuss together the issue of making the constitution and the judiciary more functional. “We must change our election system and talk about how to create a strong supervisory parliament,” he said. He emphasized that a mental transformation will not take place in the country unless these issues are discussed, and pointed out that even if a new party is established within this system, it will still disappear within this system. Saying that he has never lost hope for the future and that there are ways out, Denktaş said, “I continue my work for the radical system change I mentioned and I am preparing for a civil movement in this context.”
