The opposition and their strange obsession with Pfizer vaccines

This strange obsession of the opposition and the operators of the royal power for the Pfizer vaccine makes them lose all ability to recognize the vaccination campaign that is being carried out in Argentina.

There are not a few vaccines that Argentina received. Yes I wish it had been earlier. Who wouldn’t have wanted it to be before? What government would attack its population and itself in this way? Macrismo did it, and lost the elections. The logic of a popular government is different.

It is not about defending at any price and without distinction the government of the Frente de Todos, which has made many mistakes, as most governors have also committed. The health situation is serious and probably has to do with a certain relaxation in order to improve the economic situation. This meant that this time the restrictions were late when doctors and scientists had been asking for them for weeks.

Yesterday we reached 80 thousand deaths, it is a very high number. In some places the level of bed occupancy and especially the exhaustion of health personnel is serious, and this also affects patient care.

Last week we said that some leaders play with fire. Córdoba returned to face-to-face classes and that meant that a few days later he had to return to Phase 1. In Mendoza, Cornejo, despite the delicate health situation, decided that he will not add restrictions this weekend.

That is why I wonder what it is that convinces the opposition to generate unjustified suspicions about the vaccination that is being carried out when the lives of millions of people depend on it.

It is healthy that there is an opposition and attentive journalism, but the fiery pro-Pfizer defense they make and the often irrational questioning of health policies take away all seriousness from anything they do.

Monday is the day of the journalist, many will appear beating their chests showing the t-shirt of independent journalism, and everything is fine. But let’s reflect on the role of journalism.

If the world falls apart, it falls apart, if every day there are thousands of deaths in the world, hundreds in our country, if a virus hits us, what can we do? Generate chaos, fear, bewilderment? Will that be the essential work we do in a pandemic?

It could also be an opportunity to vindicate the activity, because the truth is that we are doing quite badly, deservedly losing credibility, a bit and a bit.

It seems barbaric to me that the role of the media is questioned, analyzed and rethought. It is urgent to improve communication.

There is good news about vaccination: the Argentine production of Sputnik, the extension of the contract for 10 million more with Gamaleya, the vaccination rate this week. It is likely that Argentines in general have a better perception of what happens with the vaccine than what the media have.
