Sigulda Opera Music Festival will start on July 29 at 19.00 with a festive concert in the garden of Sigulda’s New Castle, featuring violinist Dainis Medjaņiks (Latvia / Germany), violinist Elza Siliņa (Latvia), prima donna of the Latvian National Opera Jūlija Vasiljeva (soprano), as well as Laura Grecka (soprano) and Juris Ādamsons (baritone) ).
July 30 at 15.00 In the garden of Sigulda New Castle there will be a concert “Young Talents”, where the youth chamber orchestra (conductor Mārtiņš Bergs), soloists – Bruno Ančāns (trumpet), Daniels Luganskis (tenor) and others will perform.
In turn, at 21.00 The central event of the festival is expected on the stage of Sigulda castle ruins – the original production of the opera “Bohemian” by the outstanding Italian composer Giacomo Puccini, in which Maija Kovalevska will play the main role. The performance will provide an opportunity to hear another brilliant pearl of opera music – the Bulgarian tenor Mikhail Mikhailov, who is often compared to the outstanding Italian tenor Luciano Pavarotti. Soloists of the Latvian National Opera will also perform – Jānis Apeinis, Marlēna Keine, Rihards Mačanovskis, Krišjānis Norvelis, Andris Lapiņš and Kalvis Kalniņš. The director of the production is Edmund Freiberg, and Vladimir Kirajjev (Vienna) at the conductor’s desk.
Traditionally at the Sigulda Opera Music Festival on July 31 at At 14.00 there will be a concert of sacred music in Sigulda Evangelical Lutheran Church, where soloists Juris Vizbulis, Aleksandra Špicberga will perform, and Ingūna Grīnberga will perform at the organ.
The festival will take place on July 31 at 18.00 with a grand concert with the opportunity to hear outstanding opera artists – Tania Ivanova (Bulgaria), Perina Madefa (France), Dominik Suttovic (Poland), Mikhail Chulpayev, Rinald Kandalincev, Edgar Osley, Ilona Bagele, Krišjānis Norvels. Conductor – Atvars Lakstīgala. The festival choir and orchestra will also take part in the concert.
This year, the festival will be complemented by an exhibition of unique costumes made by costume designer Ieva Kundziņa from performances of opera performances.
