It’s official, Universal Studios in Japan has postponed the launch of Super Nintendo World. The section of the theme park dedicated to the geek universe will not open this summer because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The new amusement area to open at Universal Studios Japan, located in the city of Osaka, will clearly not open on the date scheduled for the end of July, and sees its exit postponed until further notice.

The opening of Super Nintendo World was supposed to align with the 2020 Summer Olympics, which have also been postponed to 2021 for the same reason: the coronavirus pandemic.

According to NHK, construction of the area is almost complete, but the studio is having difficulty managing the excessive number of visitors wishing to visit the amusement park. Measures have been put in place, such as allowing only visitors from the Kansai region, and dividing the maximum number of visitors allowed in the park by two.

To wait, here is the video recently posted on Twitter of a Japanese man who was at Universal Studios Japan and who realized that Yoshi’s automaton had been activated.
