In addition, the composer Juan Durán (Premio da Cultura Galega 2013 and Reina Sofía Prize for Composition 2018) has written a set of pieces to accompany the opening acts. For this, it has had a choir, solo voice, organ and a brass quintet.
This block of works contains two fanfares, one for the beginning of the act and another for the opening of the Holy Door, as well as different liturgical songs, among which the motet ‘Sae da túa terra, or Apóstol esperate’ stands out in a special way. of the Holy Year 2021, which the composer uses to write a great polyphonic work.
This order and its execution are part of the actions included in an agreement signed with the Galician Tourism Agency, according to the Compostela Cathedral.
On the other hand, the person in charge of Tourism of Galicia, Nava Castro, has presented in an act in the Pazo de Raxoi the documentary video in which some thirty artists participate, among them Iván Ferreiro, Xabier Díaz, Tanxugueiras, Amaral, Julio Iglesias , Rozalén and Alejandro Sanz.
MUSICAL TOUR
From the producer Ollo Vivo, it runs “from the most acestral music to the most pop” and advances from a “slower pace to the end”, in which Castro has hoped that those attending the event would like to dance, “even if it is each one in its place “, given the circumstances of the coronavirus pandemic.
Along with Praza da Quintana and Obradoiro, a total of 16 countries have confirmed the retransmission of this video through their tourist offices, so that it can be seen, for example, on a screen installed in the Duomo of Milan, and also in Brussels and The Hague.
But the objective is that “thousands of citizens” from “all over the world” can follow this ceremony, via ‘streaming’, through the internet, to welcome the Holy Year 2021.
The event will begin at 4.30 pm and around 7.00 pm the documentary video will be screened starring some 30 musical artists and made “with much love”.
The aim is to “break the borders in these times of distancing” and make it easier for the viewer to “know about Galicia”, as the Minister of Tourism has underlined.
“PREPARED” FOR A “SAFE” HOLY YEAR
This “first audiovisual and musical proposal” will thus kick off the “first day” of a year in which the Xunta invites “everyone to walk to Galicia”, in a “different” but “safe” Xacobeo.
“We are prepared and during these nine months we did the study (…) All this training is being held at the moment so that all the pilgrims feel in the best possible way as safe as possible,” he said, before appealing to the insurance post launched by the Galician Government against covid-19.
In this sense, he has also ensured that he is “prepared” if there is an extension of the Holy Year, since, among other issues, tax deductions last until September 2022. “We would be delighted,” he said.
