The only way out is to avoid the complete closure of the banks

The economist, Louis Hobeika, stressed that the only way out to avoid the total closure of the banks lies in negotiations and dialogue between the banks that feel a kind of hostility towards them, and each of the Ministry of Finance, the Bank of Lebanon and the government.

Hobeika refused, in an interview with “Voice of All Lebanon”, to submit to the banks that want the unsatisfactory Capital Control in its current version.

Regarding the repercussions of the complete closure, he explained that the country still relies on the banking sector, albeit to a lesser degree than before, and therefore its closure will directly affect wage and account holders.
