Former president of Russia Dmitry Medvedev say that nuclear weapons Russia is the only factor preventing Western countries from starting a war with Russia.

Medvedev communicated this in an article published on Sunday (25/12) local time.
Medvedev, currently deputy chairman of the Security Council Russiahe often criticizes the West, which he accuses of wanting to divide Russia for the benefit of Ukraine.
“Is the West ready to launch a full-scale war against us, including a nuclear war, at the hands of Kiev?” she wrote in a 4,500-word article for the Rossiiskaya Gazeta newspaper.
“The only thing that prevents our enemies today is the understanding that Russia will be guided by the fundamentals of state policy … on nuclear deterrence. And if a real threat arises, it will act on them,” he added.
Putin and other senior Russian officials have repeatedly said that Russia’s nuclear weapons policy dictates that nuclear weapons can be used if there is a threat to territorial integrity.
According to experts, Russia has the largest stockpile of nuclear weapons in the world, with nearly 6,000 warheads.
