The only sex toy factory in Germany is giving up

After almost 30 years, it’s over for the Bremen manufacturer. But the last chapter of the Fun Factory has not been written yet.

After almost three decades, an era of pleasure is coming to an end Bremen: Famous sex toy manufacturer Fun Factory will stop production at the end of September. As the “Weser Kurier” reports, the closure affects 62 employees. However, the brand itself remains and is being taken over by industry giant Triple A Sales, which includes, among other things, the online store eis.de and the sex toy brand Satisfyer.

Since 1996, Fun Factory in Hohentorshafen in Bremen has been producing colorful vibrators, cock rings and love balls. The company was the only manufacturer in the industry to make its products in Germany. In an interview with the newspaper, managing director Dirk Bauer mentioned an increase in labor and material costs as well as problems in obtaining parts.

The corona pandemic also took its toll on the company: customers were no longer able to browse the high-quality products on the site and instead turned to cheaper alternatives online . There were also problems with financing new projects.

Triple A Sales will now take over on October 1st Bielefeld everything that previously belonged to the Bremer Fun Factory – ie the entire product portfolio, the patents, designs and brands as well as the inventory. The self-proclaimed global market leader plans to invest a double-digit million sum in the Bremen brand.

Fun Factory had introduced several innovations to the industry in the past, including the first toy of the appeal genre, according to an announcement from Triple A Sales. The use of medical silicone also goes back to the Bremen company. “We are very sad, but also very proud of what we have created as a small family company with a great team,” Bauer summarized to the “Weser Kurier”.
