The All New Honda BR-V, which has been introduced since last September, has finally entered the production line. This 7-seater Low SUV car is only made in Indonesia starting today, Tuesday (13/12/2021) at the Karawang factory, West Java.
The All New Honda BR-V is one of the models produced at the PT HPM Factory along with other models such as the Honda Brio, Honda Mobilio, Honda City Hatchback, Honda HR-V, and Honda CR-V. It is said that the All New Honda BR-V has more than 80% local content.
“Today is a special day for Honda Prospect Motor where Honda officially begins production of the All New Honda BR-V in Indonesia. We are proud that worldwide the All New Honda BR-V will only be produced in Indonesia,” said Takehiro Watanabe, President Director of PT Honda Prospect Motor, in a press release, Tuesday (12/13/2021).
PT HPM’s factory in Karawang stands on 51.52 hectares of land and has various production facilities with high quality standards. In addition to meeting the demand in the Indonesian automotive market, several models and components produced at the PT HPM Factory have also been exported to various countries around the world.
Honda BR-V ‘Made In Indonesia’ will also be exported to foreign countries. A total of 30 countries will host the BR-V. The target is that 11,000 units can be shipped in the first year.
“This product is not only intended for Indonesian consumers, but also for the international market with plans to export to more than 30 countries. This is a big challenge for us to be able to meet all customer needs and expectations, while demonstrating the high standard of production quality in Indonesia,” he added.
Furthermore, Yusak Billy, Business Innovation and Sales & Marketing Director of PT HPM, said that the pre-orders for the Honda BR-V had already reached 2,500 units. Deliveries are scheduled to start January 2022.
“Since it was first launched last September, the All New Honda BR-V has been enthusiastically welcomed by consumers in Indonesia, with the current order number reaching more than 2,500 units. With the start of the first production of the All New Honda BR-V today, Now we are ready to ship this car in early January 2022 to the first customers who have placed an order,” said Billy.

Meanwhile, for the domestic market share target, the Honda BR-V is targeted to reach 40 thousand by 2022.
The second generation of Honda BR-V comes with a new face. Not only that, various advanced technologies are also attached to the BR-V. In a way, the embedding of active safety technology on the BR-V is also the first among all models in its class.
Some of the superior features include: Honda SENSINGTM, Honda LaneWatchTM, Remote Engine Start, Walk-Away Auto Lock, and Smart Entry System.
As long as it has enlivened the country’s automotive industry from 2015 to November 2021, the Honda BR-V has recorded total retail sales of 77,137 units. Globally, the Honda BR-V has sold more than 255,000 units and Indonesia is the country with the highest sales contribution of 30%.
