The only aircraft carrier of the Russian Navy cannot be repaired – intelligence

The ship’s hull below the third deck has undergone significant corrosion, and the holds are completely filled with muddy water. In this state, the aircraft carrier is not only unable to move independently, it cannot be launched in principle.

Russia’s only aircraft carrier, the heavy aircraft-carrying cruiser Admiral Kuznetsov, lies in ruins. The ship’s hull is so corroded that the vessel cannot be launched, and the specialists of the shipyard, where the aircraft carrier is now located, cannot even give an approximate time frame for its restoration. About January 9th in shape Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

According to the intelligence agency, “Admiral Kuznetsov” is currently in critical condition at the 35th shipyard in the city of Murmansk (Russia). To continue the repair work, it was recently decided to transfer the ship from the dry dock to one of the berths at the shipyard, however, in preparation for transportation, it turned out that the aircraft carrier was completely unable to move on its own.

In this regard, attempts were made to move the ship with the help of tugs, but this also turned out to be impossible: the ship repairers warned that the state of Admiral Kuznetsov, in principle, does not allow launching, because it is highly likely to roll over on its side and drown.

While examining the ship’s hull, divers found that the metal structures under the third deck had undergone significant corrosion, as a result of which the holds were filled with muddy water and further internal inspection of the ship was impossible.

Against this background, a scandal erupted between the management of the plant and the fleet: the departments are trying to shift responsibility for the current situation onto each other. Moreover, officials cannot even figure out who made the decision to move the aircraft carrier from dock to dock.

As a result, the fleet command proposed one and a half billion rubles fines to the plant management for failure to meet the deadlines for repairs and non-fulfillment of the contract. The enterprise, in turn, provided a document stating that the plant was not to blame for bringing “Admiral Kuznetsov” into a deplorable state.

“With a high degree of probability, the military representation at the plant, which supervised the progress of the work, is found guilty,” the GUR noted, adding that to date there is not even an approximate date for the return of the aircraft carrier to service .

It was previously reported that on the aircraft carrier “Admiral Kuznetsov”, which is located on the territory of the Zvezdochka shipyard in Murmansk, a fire broke out. According to the TASS agency, 20 people were evacuated on December 22 due to a fire on board the ship.
