More than two years have passed since the beloved actor suffered a stroke. On November 4, 2021, Gil was admitted due to an acute ischemic stroke in the left hemisphere. After being hospitalized for 22 days, the actor continued his recovery at home. His daughter Irene detailed the actor’s evolution on social networks. Every few weeks a more recovered Gil was seen. Now out of danger, the actor began to fend for himself again. But for a few months now, that recovery seems to have stalled.
«We handle it as best we can. We have spoken with the neurologists, with the rehabilitation center and, although no one tells us that there is nothing to do, they do not suggest that the situation will be fixed. I don’t see it, but I hope I’m wrong and everything changes for the better in the future, although the passage of time makes you lose hope,” details Gil’s daughter in Pronto magazine.
José Luis Gil turned 66 on December 9. The last image of him is from October 24, with his daughter. Irene uploaded the photo to social networks and gave details of the actor’s state of health: «It is hard to have to speak on his behalf, I would like him to be able to respond to your messages. It is not like this. Two years have passed and we are all assuming that life is not going to be the same again,” she acknowledged then.
The situation, two months later, has not changed: «He is mobile, but, of course, he is not a very young man. My father recognizes everyone. If someone comes to see him, they know who he is, he finds out everything, but he has problems communicating.
