The Egyptian Olympic team led by Shawky Gharib, at nine o’clock today, Tuesday, enters a friendly match of a heavy caliber in front of his Brazilian counterpart at Cairo International Stadium, at the end of the international friendly tournament that was held in Cairo from 12 to 17 November for the current Olympic teams and includes the teams of Egypt and Korea South Africa and Brazil, as part of the preparation program for the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.
The Egyptian Olympic team opened its tournament with a negative draw with South Korea at Al-Salam Stadium, Al-Salam, and the Olympic team started the match with a formation that included, in the goalkeeper: Mohamed Sobhy, and in defense: Hassan Ali, Muhammad Abdel Salam, Mahmoud Mari and Karim Al-Iraqi, and the center: Akram Tawfiq and Nasser Maher And Imam Ashour and Ahmed Beckham, and the attack: Salah Mohsen and Ahmed Yasser Rayan. While samba dancers defeated South Korea by three goals to one on the same stadium, Brazil’s national team led the tournament with three points.
For his part, Shawky Gharib, the coach of the Olympic national team, stressed the benefit of South Korea’s friendly match and friction with a football school characterized by speed and fitness, as well as that the Korean team is the Asian champion in the latest version.
“Gharib” explained that he seeks to give a large number of players the opportunity in the second friendly match against the Brazil national team, especially some of the elements that join the national camp for the first time to be objectively judged.
The technical meeting of the international friendly tournament, in the presence of Dr. Alaa Abdel Aziz, director of the Egyptian team, resulted in the Egyptian Olympic team wearing its basic red-white-black uniform in its meeting in front of Brazil at Cairo Stadium, while the Brazilian national team would wear its traditional yellow and blue uniform.
