The world’s oldest known person, Lucille Randon, has died aged 118, her spokesman told AFP today.
Randon, known as Sister Andre, was born in the south of France on February 11, 1904, a full decade before the First World War.

She celebrated her last birthday on February 11 with a port and chocolate cocktail, as usual.
“I can’t stand guests anymore, I’m not so friendly anymore,” she told AFP recently.

In February 2021, it became known that Sister Andre had been asymptomatic for COVID-19 in the nursing home in Toulon where she lived.
