back on Sunday, November 26, 2023Saint-André de Chartres (Eure-et-Loir) will undergo a transformation to reconnect with its past by highlighting the production locale.
And to allow as many merchants as possible to participate, the deadline for registering applications has been extended to September 29, 2023.
What to spend the winter
Like many local events, Saint-André has its roots in our history. The oldest fair in Chartres has been canceled for the past two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
This fair settling in the heart of the flagship city of Beauce then knew a strong power of attraction:
Saint-André attracted people from the countryside, who, money from the agricultural harvest in their pocket, came to Chartres to buy everything they needed to spend the winter.

Restore its original soul to the fair
Except that over the years this fair has gradually lost its original spirit “by becoming a fair in which there were only peddlers selling products made on the other side of the planet« .
To “give back its soul to Saint-André”, the City wanted to bring together producers, traders, creators and craftsmen from Eure-et-Loir with the idea of making it a showcase for know-how and local flavors.
