/ world today news/ Oil prices fell significantly on Tuesday in New York, facing skepticism about a possible drop in supply both in the US and from the Middle East.
The price of benchmark oil (WTI) for June delivery, the last day for contracts for delivery in June, lost 2.25 a barrel to $57.99 a barrel in New York (Nymex).
Prices, which started to rise in two months after hitting a six-year low in mid-March, had not fallen this low since early May.
Crude oil prices have gone too fast and too high,” Kiel Cooper of IAF Advisors told AFP.
