The Ogre Theater invites you to the musical show “Theatre Carousel” at the Ogre City Festival

On August 24, during the Ogre town festival, the first new production of the Ogre Theater this season will have its first performance – a musical-theatre program “Theatre Carousel”, in which new and old melodies of various genres and styles will be performed to play live with the actors of the Ogre Theatre.

Latvians have two great loves – singing and theater. Every Latvian has his own national song, and every Latvian has at least one song to which he knows the words of all the verses. We love to sing – in choirs, in pubs, with friends, on holidays and anniversaries or just for fun, while driving or in the a shower But at every theater festival, we sing the song “Lilioma” together. For a long time, the younger generations do not know where this song comes from and what it is about “deer, whose place is still free”. The legendary show has remained only in the memories of the older generations, but the song lives on its own life: “It will happen, it will happen, those who paid!” Liliom’s dating series continues to spin, inviting new audiences to sit on it.

“In this concert of songs, we want to travel with the audience through times, different styles of music and mood. Inside the theater carousel, the announcer invites you to take your seats and join the fun. Each selected song is imagined as a small story, as a theatrical scene – both happy, lyrical and completely dark. But all this is united by the story about the theater, about the actors and about all of us who love to sing and have not forgotten the feelings of childhood, spinning in the carousel, “says the director Jānis Kaijaks about the new production.

Dynamic theater, unusual arrangements of songs, temperamental dances – the “Carousel” of the Ogre Theater promises this to the audience.
