České Budějovice – The Civic Democratic Party will rule alone in the South Bohemian Region. He has enough mandates for that, said South Bohemian Governor Martin Kuba (ODS). ANO and Enough! will remain in the opposition. The ODS won more than 47 percent of the vote, which represents more than 30 seats in the 55-member assembly.

“In the current situation, I don’t see a reason why we would conduct coalition negotiations,” Kuba told reporters. The second ANO won over 24 percent of the votes in the elections in the south of Bohemia and Enough! narrowly exceeded the required five percent threshold. No one else made it to the regional council. According to ČTK’s calculations, they will have 17 and four mandates respectively.
“With a comfortable majority, it is enough for us to form the government ourselves. Of course, I will want to meet with my colleagues from both groups. Because the council has historically worked in maximum harmony with everyone in the last four years, and I will continue to strive for the same. But it is not necessary form some sort of coalition,” said Kuba.
ANO won the regional elections four years ago in southern Bohemia just ahead of ODS. Both entities each had 12 mandates out of 55. Pirates with nine mandates, together with TOP 09 and KDU-ČSL (seven mandates), ČSSD with six seats, STAN with five and Jihočesi 2012 with four mandates also got into the council. 20 groups strove for voters’ votes. The region was led by a coalition of ODS, KDU-ČSL and TOP 09, ČSSD and South Bohemia 2012.
