The Océanic will be able to play in front of its supporters

The last season was quite difficult for the teams of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), who had to play their clashes in empty amphitheatres.

However, the circuit has given the green light to welcome spectators in 2021-2022 and the Rimouski Oceanic will be able to admit 2,093 amateurs, as part of the exhibition games of its training camp. The organization says it is ready.

“The entries are expected and the supporters will be held in bubbles of 500 people,” said the sales director of the Oceanic, Jean-Philippe Bérubé.

In addition, families can be reunited and the lodges will accommodate up to 93 people in total.

The players and members of the organization are also very anxious to reconnect with the presence of hockey fans.

“Playing in front of fans is completely different and we want it to progress,” said Nicolas Thibeault, who is the communications and marketing director of the Océanic.

While waiting for their supporters, the players are preparing and the rookies will enter training camp early next week.

For its part, the organization of the Baie-Comeau Drakkar will be able to accommodate 500 people for the training camp and up to 1000 people during the preparatory matches.
