The official says the occupiers are trying to cover up the killing of hundreds of civilians when Russian warplanes bombed the building on March 16, 2022.
A screen was recently erected around the ruined theater.

The video shows a bulldozer destroying part of the back of the building. Andruyshchenko explains that Russia plans to leave the front of the theater intact and destroy the rest of the building to build a new theater on “the bones of the people of Mariupol.”
Last month, a screen with images of Russian cultural workers was installed around the ruins of the theater.
