The objectives pursued by terrorism cannot be separated from the designs projected by separatism, said retired Argentine general and nuclear security expert Raul Oscar Racana, stressing the need to fight both phenomena with firmness and determination.
In a statement to Moroccan news channel M24, Racana said there are many examples around the world in which “we see that separatism and terrorism are two sides of the same coin”, because their underlying objectives are common.
This requires concerted efforts to address the two phenomena that threaten peace, security and stability, he added.
On the other hand, Racana, author of the book “The 21st century: the world of strategy”, hailed the important role of Morocco in bringing about rapprochement between the Arab and African worlds on the one hand, and the Latin America on the other hand, through initiatives that have enabled the Kingdom to become a privileged partner of Latin American countries.
In the same context, he pointed out that Argentina, which is a central country in South America, is called today to open up to Africa, which represents a very important market with around 1.3 billion inhabitants, noting that Morocco can be Argentina’s gateway to this continent.
