The Nymburk basketball players lost in the 4th round of the Champions League at home with PAOK Thessaloniki 71:75, even though they were already leading by 15 points at the beginning of the fourth quarter. They scored their second defeat and dropped to third place in Group E for their opponent today, who has the same balance. At the same time, if coach Aleksandar Sekulič’s charges kept the match well, they would secure participation in advance in qualifying for at least the eight-final group for teams from second and third places at the expense of PAOK.

Malcolm Griffin signed 22 points, seven rebounds and four assists under the victory of the Greek team, which lost to Nymburk at home in the last second of 83:84. The best scorer of the home team was traditionally Jerrick Harding with 17 points. The next match awaits Nymburk on Tuesday, December 7 in the Bosnian Laktash against the Igokee.
In the beginning, only Demetre Rivers and Captain Vojtěch Hruban took care of Nymburk’s points, who gave five. It was not until the end of the fifth minute that Gorjok Gak began production, which also started a seven-point line of home team, after which they broke up to 17:12. Colbey Ross and the intersection ended with Hruban’s smash also took part in it.
But the PAOK responded with an equally long series and the tug-of-war over the lead continued. Halfway through the second quarter, Nymburk again escaped with a 7-0 lead to a six-point lead, but the Greek team immediately turned from 33:27 to 35:33. The home team went into a break in a balanced battle with a three-point lead thanks to Rivers’ basket with a horn.
After the break, Nymburk showed a start with a score of 10: 2 and got into the lead by 11 points. PAOK didn’t know how to play the home board quickly and, moreover, he stopped doing well in shooting. In the 29th minute, Jerrick Harding secured a 13-point lead, who missed the last two matches in the domestic league due to a minor shoulder injury and returned as one of the point leaders.
At the start of the final quarter on Rivers’ three and the biggest difference in the match of 15 points, the guests responded with a 7-0 lead and then another even turned the score to 68:66. Thanks to Harding, Nymburk gained a 71:70 lead in the dramatic ending, but Jermaine Love pulled the lead 73:71 with a basket and a free throw. After Harding’s action and Marvin Jones’s block, the judges first signaled a technical basket, but after watching the video, the settlement did not take place. Love finished the result with sixes.
