The Nuwa Pen smart ballpoint introduced for $279: It digitizes handwriting by itself

The smart pen has three cameras, as well as sensors that respond to pressure and movement. You can write with it on any paper. The app will store the scanned text in memory, making saved notes searchable.

Marc Tuinier, one of the company’s co-founders, noticed that handwriting contains deeply personal characteristics, so the Nuwa Pen was designed to read text written in ink and process it on the device. “Our end-to-end encryption solution for digital ink ensures your thoughts are secure the moment you start typing.” He added.

The smart pen uses standard D1 ballpoint refills. The device comes with a charging case that provides power replenishment in 15 minutes. The battery capacity of the pen is sufficient for about two hours of handwriting.

The Nuwa Pen application will provide the user with access to his notes at any time. For those who want to convert their handwritten notes into typed text, the company offers a Nuwa Pen+ subscription for $2.99 a month.

If you pre-order now, the price of the device will be $179 instead of $279 retail. Nuwa Pen will be available in black and white color options.
