The Nun 2 horror screenwriter Akela Cooper gave an interview in which she said that she was very proud of the addition of new black characters to The Conjuring universe:
Most of all, I was glad when Storm Reed was cast in the film, because this character means a lot to me. It was a result of that meeting, when I said: “Guys, I’m going to put a black nun in the film,” and they answered me: “Okay, cool.” Bringing more black people into the Conjuring universe is something I’m proud of.
The plot of the tape will tell about a new attempt by Irene (Taissa Farmiga) to exorcise the demon Valak. The heroine Storm Reed will play an important role in this story.
The sequel was directed by Michael Chavez, who directed The Conjuring 3: By the Will of the Devil, and the film is set to premiere on September 8, 2023.
