The number of taxis in Zaragoza is increased to 1,777 licenses
The number of taxi licenses in Zaragoza has grown by 3.5%, reaching 1,777 in 2019.
In 2008 there were 1,717 licenses in the capital, at which point it was expanded to the existing ones.
In the country as a whole, the evolution of operating taxi licenses in Spain in the last 25 years has followed the opposite trend to the population and since 1994 they have fallen by 3.5%.
According to the National Institute of Statistics (INE), in the latest data available this year, there were 69,547 taxis.
In the last 20 years the number of taxis has never exceeded the figure recorded in 1994. From this year it fell until 2003, except in 2001, when there was an increase of one hundred licenses.
As of 2003, when there were 69,566 licenses in Spain, the number of taxis grew again and in 2012 reached 70,713, but from that moment on the downward trend resumed.
