Cargo transportation along the Dnieper increased by 64% in six months

In just six months of the flow year, 6,433 flights were carried out, against 3,299 flights in 2020.
In the first half of 2021, 5.4 million tons of cargo were transported along the Dnieper River, which is 63.9% or 1.9 million tons more than in the same period in 2020. On Wednesday, July 7, reports press service State Enterprise “Administration of the Sea Ports of Ukraine” (USPA).
It is noted that the bulk of the cargo was construction cargo, the volume of transportation of which increased by 133.5% and reached 3.71 million tons.
In second place is grain cargo, their volume of transportation decreased by 5.4% compared to last year and amounted to 1.13 million tons.
In addition, metal products are actively transported along the river. For 6 months of 2021, the volume of metal transportation reached 603.9 thousand tons, which is 9.6% less than in the same period in 2020.
The River Information Service is a structural subdivision of the Delta-Pilot branch of the State Enterprise “Administration of the Sea Ports of Ukraine”.
