The number of people killed in the earthquake in Turkey has reached 58 / Article / LSM.lv

An earthquake in western Turkey and Greece on Friday, October 30, killed at least 60 people.

Rescue work on the ruins of ruined buildings continues in the Turkish city of Izmir.

The deaths of 58 people have been confirmed in Turkey, two people have died on the Greek island of Sam. Many more are missing. Dozens of people have been rescued from the ruins.

Last night, 33 hours after the earthquake, a 70-year-old man was pulled alive from the ruins and taken to hospital. However, with each passing hour, the chances of finding survivors decrease.

The epicenter of the seven magnitude earthquake was near Izmir in the Aegean Sea.

In Turkey, almost 900 people have been affected by the earthquake, of which around 200 have been hospitalized. Many people have been left homeless.
