The number of people infected in the region is increasing rapidly, but they are not hospitalized

According to the regional hygiene station, a total of 429 people were infected on Thursday morning, more than half in the Olomouc region.

However, the number of patients in whom the course of the infection requires hospitalization has not yet increased significantly in the Olomouc Region. They even fell in Olomouc.

“At the moment, three are hospitalized in the standard covid ward, ie all with a lighter course,” said Adam Fritscher, a spokesman for the Olomouc University Hospital, on Thursday morning. “Seven last week, so the number has dropped,” he added.

There are currently 8 patients with confirmed Covid-19 in the infection department of the Prostějov Hospital.

“Their state of health requires hospitalization, but fortunately no one has to be placed in the ARO department, which is intended for the most serious patients,” said hospital spokeswoman Radka Miloševská.

Capacities for covid patients in hospitals are sufficient and can be increased quickly if needed. Specifically infectious, Prostějov has 30 beds available as standard.

“The so-called covid beds have been set aside and ready for all hospitals, so if necessary, it will be possible to use these capacities for covid-positive patients,” Miloševská concluded.

70 positive per 100 thousand inhabitants

Most people with confirmed coronavirus are now in Olomouc, where in the last 7 days the Ministry of Health registers 70 people with a positive test per 100,000 inhabitants.
