In the Czech Republic, so far, all the measures announced by the government in recent weeks are in force – people are not allowed out outside from 9 pm to 5 am, except for trips to work or to the hospital, while they must be able to prove the purpose of their trip. During the day, those who go to work, shopping, doctors or go out are allowed, and with the exception of families, a maximum of two people can meet. The government ordered the companies to set up a home office, ie work from home, if its operation allows it. Theaters, museums, but also schools are closed, with the exception of kindergartens.
The first retreat from the strict rules will come on November 18, when first and second graders and special schools will return to school. What happens next should be clear after the afternoon press conference of the Ministry of Health. Minister Jan Blatný (for YES) should present the dismantling system in detail. The four parameters will be decisive, according to which each region will be included in one of the five restriction zones.
“If we behave responsibly, by the end of the month we can reach a level that will not allow us to do everything, but will definitely allow us to have a much nicer life and a much nicer Christmas. On the contrary, if we do not do so, we will return to level five very quickly and everything will be closed for Christmas, “Blatný said in the Chamber of Deputies on Wednesday.
The ministry is also updating the travel traffic light, which determines the riskiness of foreign states. Currently, most countries are classified as medium to high risk. Of all Europe, the ministry considers only the Vatican to be a low-risk country.

It is best in Prague and its surroundings, the worst in the Vysočina region
In the Czech Republic, the situation is currently improving, as most data suggest. In October, when the number of positive cases increased every day, the current number of infected people was up to twice the number of those who have recovered since the beginning of the epidemic. This is no longer the case, now the situation is the opposite. Currently, according to information from the Ministry of Health, 140,201 people are infected with covid-19, but since March 1, when the spread of the pandemic to the Czech Republic was first confirmed, 300,719 people have recovered.
According to the Institute of Health Information and Statistics, the reproduction number, which indicates the average number of other infections from one tested positive and describes the rate of spread of the disease, fell to 0.8 this week. According to the director of the institute, Ladislav Dušek, the measures announced by the government are behind the decline.

Relatively in terms of population, the best situation is now in Prague and its surroundings. In the capital, 214 people per hundred thousand inhabitants became infected in the last week, the situation is even better in the district of Prague-West with 204 cases per hundred thousand inhabitants in seven days. In Prague-East, 246 more people per hundred thousand inhabitants underwent a test for coronavirus in a week, the result of which was positive.
Prague and its immediate surroundings would now meet the new rules of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for medium-risk areas, for which the limit of 250 cases per hundred thousand inhabitants applies. However, the three “Prague” regions are so far the only ones in the Czech Republic that would be affected. In many cases, the relative morbidity is more than threefold. The worst situation is in the Havlíčkův Brod region with 813 cases per hundred thousand inhabitants in the last week and in the Pelhřimov region with 773 newly infected per hundred thousand inhabitants. Due to the number of inhabitants, the Vysočina region is currently hit the worst by covid-19 the worst in the whole country, in all districts there are over 500 new cases per week per hundred thousand inhabitants, relatively best in the Třebíč region with 548 infected out of 100,000.
In absolute numbers, however, both of the most populous regions contribute the most to the nationwide growth in the number of cases. There were 866 new cases in Central Bohemia on Thursday, and 824 in the Moravian-Silesian Region. Tests in the Vysočina region confirmed 634 people, and 493 in Prague.
