The number of new coronavirus infections is still rising in Limburg. The Consultation Committee may therefore announce tightening today to bring the curves back down. There is, however, a small ray of hope in the Limburg figures: the rising infection figures still do not have too great an impact on the number of hospitalizations.
In the past week, an average of 1,734 Limburgers tested positive for the corona virus. That is an increase of 42 percent compared to the week before. The infection rate has now reached 1.25. The reproduction number is still above 1, indicating that the epidemic is growing in our province.
Hospital admissions are still stable in Limburg. At the moment, the inflow and outflow of patients practically balance each other. Today, 118 Limburg corona patients are in hospital, 33 of which are in the intensive care unit. Last week, 12 Limburgers died from the virus.
