In South Baden fewer people have accidents on motorbikes. This is shown by data from January to September. In the Lrrach and Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald districts, however, the number of accidents remains constant.
The number of motorcycle accidents in the area of responsibility of the Freiburg police headquarters is falling. This is shown by current data for the past season. Only in the districts of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald and Lrrach there was no decline. Police chief Franz Semling attaches great importance to the fact that the number of accidents continues to decline. He speaks out against driving bans and in favor of quieter motorbikes.
Number of fatalities halved
The Freiburg Police Headquarters is responsible for the Freiburg urban district and the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald, Emmendingen, Lrrach and Waldshut districts. In the entire area of responsibility, the number of accidents fell from 404 in 2019 to 361 this year. The months from January to September were examined. That year there were 289 injuries, of which 143 suffered serious injuries. Five motorcyclists died in accidents. In the previous year there were twice as many deaths.
