The number of internally displaced persons in Ukraine exceeds eight million / Day

Since Russia started the war on February 24, more than 5.9 million Ukrainians have fled the country.

The latest IOM estimates for internally displaced persons date from 3 May, compared to 7.7 million in previous estimates on 17 April.

63% of IDPs are women.

Nearly half of the internally displaced have fled their homes in eastern Ukraine, where Russia is currently concentrating a major blow.

More than 3.9 million people have fled their homes in the east, 1.65 million in the Kiev region and 1.3 million in the north.

36% of internally displaced people are currently in the west of the country, which is a relatively safe region.
