The number of hospitalized Covid-19 patients continues to decline

The number of Covid-19 patients in hospitals continues to decline slightly, according to data compiled by the National Health Service.

Last day, 54 patients with Covid-19 were hospitalized and 61 patients were discharged.

A total of 615 Covid-19 patients are currently being treated in hospital.

Of all patients treated for this disease in the hospital, 534 patients had a moderate course of the disease and 81 had a severe course of the disease.

LETA has already reported that 477 new cases of Covid-19 infection were detected in Latvia on Thursday and the deaths of eight patients were reported, according to information gathered by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control.

The two-week cumulative morbidity rate per 100,000 population has dropped significantly from 434.3 to 405 cases since yesterday.

15,458 Covid-19 tests were performed in Latvia during the day, and the proportion of positive cases against the tested ones is 3.1%.

A total of 130,271 cases of Covid-19 infection have been registered in Latvia so far.

Eight Covid-19 deaths were reported on Thursday. One of these people was aged between 60 and 69, four were aged between 70 and 79, two were aged between 80 and 89 and another was aged between 90 and 99.-

So far, a total of 2309 people who have been diagnosed with Covid-19 have died in Latvia.

The agency LETA estimates that 7726 cases of Covid-19 have been detected in the last two weeks, while the rest are considered to be infected. The last time this figure was below 8,000 was on May 6.
