The Department of Health (SES) recorded an increase in the number of hospitalized by Covid-19 this Saturday (24), reaching a total of 267 patients confirmed or suspected of having the disease. Already confirmed cases with the disease rose from 78,037 to 78,233 in the city, with 196 new notifications.
Among all hospitalized patients, 183 have confirmed the infection by the virus. Of these, 99 are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). There are 84 patients with suspicion, 12 in the ICU.
The total number of people in recovery — home isolation — is 593. The city showed a drop in the number of people suspected of being infected by the coronavirus and awaiting results, from 538 to 522. The number of people discarded for negative results of the disease increased to 140,814.
Confirmed deaths increased to 2,610, with four new deaths in the city’s public hospitals. The mortality rate in the municipality is 3.3%, below the state rate, which is 3.4%, and above the national rate, which is 2.8%. Deaths were registered between 16 and 22 July. The city kept one death under investigation.
Covid bed occupancy rate
In the daily census of beds of Covid-19 this Saturday (24), at Adib Jatene State Hospital, two Covid clinical beds are occupied, eight being agreed upon. The 40 beds of the Covid ICU are 65% occupied. Another statewide hospital, the Conjunto Hospitalar de Sorocaba (CHS), has 16 clinical beds and four are occupied. The only Covid infant ICU bed is without a patient. Of the 30 ICU beds made available at this hospital, 12 are occupied. The AME has two clinical beds and none are occupied.
Of the hospitals contracted by the Municipality of Sorocaba to offer Covid beds, Santa Casa has 76.19% occupancy in clinical beds. In other words, of the existing 21, 16 have patients. The occupancy of the Covid ICU at Santa Casa is 72.72%, which represents 40 beds occupied out of the 55 hired. Hospital Santa Lucinda has a total of 18 clinical beds and seven are occupied. The same hospital also has two ICU beds and none are occupied. Of the GPACI’s six Covid clinical beds, one is occupied. Amhemed Hospital has 10 Covid clinical beds and two are occupied. Of the three ICU beds in this same hospital, two are already occupied.
The Covid São Guilherme Stabilization Center has 24 ward beds occupied out of a total of 40. Of the 20 Advanced Ventilatory Support beds, 16 are occupied. The West Zone Stabilization Center has six infirmary beds occupied from a total of 40 agreed. Of the 23 beds of Advanced Ventilatory Support, seven are occupied. The Covid East Zone Stabilization Center has eight clinical beds occupied out of a total of 27. Of the three Advanced Ventilatory Support beds, one is occupied.
In the private network, Hospital Unimed has 35% occupancy of Covid clinical adult beds (seven beds occupied out of the 20 agreed) and 100% of those in the ICU (15 beds occupied out of the existing 15). The only infant bed in the ICU in this hospital is unoccupied. The Samaritano has 15 Covid clinical beds occupied out of a total of 28 existing ones. Already, the ICU has 18 beds occupied of the 36 available. Of Covid’s two children’s ICU beds, none are occupied. The Evangelical Hospital has 88.88% occupancy of its ICU (16 occupied of the 18 agreed) and 38.88% of the clinical beds (seven occupied of the 18 agreed). Amhemed Hospital has 13 agreed clinical beds and none are occupied. The ICU of the same hospital has two occupied beds out of a total of seven.
