“At present, 125 criminal cases have been initiated, 5.8 thousand people have been delivered to the police, among them there are a significant number of foreigners,” it was reported.

The situation in Kazakhstan has worsened after residents of the cities of Zhanaozen, Aktau and Almaty took to the streets on January 2 calling for a reduction in fuel prices.
Participants in the riots blocked the work of the ambulance, fire services, attacked the security forces and took possession of their weapons, and also stormed administrative buildings and pre-trial detention centers.
