In the 24 hours to 20.30 on Friday (3.30 on Saturday, Latvian time), 225,201 new infections were registered, as well as 2,506 new deaths related to Covid-19.
In a country of 330 million people, more than 14.3 million people have been confirmed to be infected with the coronavirus since the pandemic began, and the number of Covid-19-related deaths has risen to 278,000.
There is also a steady increase in the number of hospitalized Covid-19 patients in the United States, especially in the most populous states of California, Florida, New York and Texas.
